Taylor
Taylor Swift, the rarest pop phenomenon is a star who managed to move between the genres of country and mainstream pop culture, becoming an idol of the world of pop. Swift also took on every continent through her music. Swift removed her roots in the country as though they were part of her skin to reveal that she was possibly the most savvy pop-oriented singer/songwriter of her time, someone who was able to harness the zeitgeist make it personal and just as impressively perform in the opposite direction. These skills were evident on her first hits, particularly the Neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out her true identity and in the process, finding a mass audience. Fearless became a worldwide hit, not only in the United States (where it earned as platinum six times for Top Ten Hits Love Story as well as "You Belong with Me") but in Canada, Australia and the U.K. as well as other nations. Swift's new album, Speak Now, released almost two years after the debut, further consolidated this momentum. It propelled Swift into the spotlight. She grew in popularity over the course of the three albums that followed - Red (2012) 1989 (2014) and Reputation (2017). Swift became a household name within a genre where she belonged. While she reduced her production with folklore, and Evermore albums in the year 2020, she was still in the forefront of pop music.
