Kari Sam Wuhrer, born April 28, 1968 is an American Actress and Singer. Wuhrer first began her acting career as a teenager. Her best-known character was as Maggie Beckett from the TV show Sliders and also for the role of the character Sheriff Samantha Parker on the horror film Eight Legged Freaks. The couple has three brothers. She began singing in clubs as a teenager, and often would leave her house in order to perform. After studying acting at the Wooster School at the age of 13, she was a drama student at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts located at Marymount Manhattan College and Columbia University. She also studied in the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts under the famed Uta Hagen. She was born in Brookfield Connecticut on April 28, she was raised there. Her father is both a German American policeman, as well as an auto salesman. Kari's siblings are three. As a teenager her nightclub, she performed and then slipped away to do a show. Kari was 13 years old when she started acting lessons at Wooster School. Then, Kari enrolled at Tisch School of the Arts of New York University. Columbia University. Marymount Manhattan College. Kari began acting when she was a teenager. Her first break came in 1987 with MTV Remote Control.
