Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift (born 13 December 1989) is an American singer/songwriter. Her discography is varied and her songwriting, which often is influenced by her own life experiences, has been widely reported by the media. Swift was born in West Reading (PA) and moved to Nashville as a teenager to pursue the dream of becoming a country singer. Swift signed a songwriting contract with Sony/ATV Music Publishing in 2004 and signed a recording deal with Big Machine Records in 2005. The self-titled debut album she released in 2006 made Swift the first female country artist to have an album that was U.S.-certified platinum. Swift's next albums Fearless (2008) and Speak Now (2011) explored the country genre. "Love Story" (the first country song to reach the top of the U.S. pop airplay charts) as well as "You Are My Friend" the latter, were Swift's upcoming albums, Fearless (2008) and Speak Now (2010). She tried out electronic and rock styles in Red (2012) the album that included her first Billboard Hot 100 number-one song, "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together", and eschewed her traditional image on her synth-pop album 1989 (2014) which was accompanied by chart-topping tracks "Shake It Off", "Blank Space", and "Bad Blood". Media scrutiny inspired the urban-flavored Reputation (2017) and its number-one single "Look at What You Did to Me Do". Swift left Big Machine in 2018, and signed in 2018 with Republic Records. In 2019, Swift released Lover (2019), followed closely by Miss Americana (2020), a documentary about her life. She ventured into indie folk and alternative rock in her 2020 albums Folklore and Evermore which featured two singles "Cardigan" and "Willow" topped the Hot 100. Swift began recording her earlier six albums after a dispute with their masters. Two albums were released in 2021--Fearless(Taylor’s version) and Red (Taylor’s version). The longest-running track on the Hot 100 was "All Too Well (10 Minute version)". All-time streaming records were established by Swift's 2022 album Midnights as well as the single "Anti-Hero." Swift has directed music videos, films and even played supporting roles in other movies. Swift is among the most popular musicians of all time selling over 200 million records worldwide. Swift is the most streamed woman in Spotify. She's also the only artist with five albums that have sold more than a million copies in the US. Her awards include 12 Grammy Awards, including three Album of the Year winners; an Emmy Award; 39 American Music Awards and 29 Billboard Music Awards. She is also the holder of 92 Guinness World Records. Swift was featured in the Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Singers of All time, Billboard's Greatest of All Time Artists and Forbes Celebrity 100. Swift has been given the honor of being named Artist of the Decade as well as Woman of the Decade. Swift is a vocal proponent of women's empowerment as well as artists' rights. Swift's music is frequently acknowledged as having inspired the next generation of singer-songwriters.
